From a Naples kitchen to a national launch
MIGA didn't start in a lab. It started with a beef empanada an Argentinian butcher inspired — and a restaurant that couldn't keep up with the demand.
The empanada that outgrew the dining room
In 2003, Martin Fierro Restaurant opened in Naples, Florida. Its beef and chicken empanadas — inspired by the restaurant's Argentinian butcher — became a local favorite, repeatedly named among the best empanadas in town.
By 2012 the restaurant had outgrown its first location and expanded the empanada line. By 2021, demand for the empanadas outside the restaurant was impossible to ignore — and MIGA Food Manufacturing was created to make them at scale.
